Dr. Hampstead reviewed evidence supporting cognition oriented treatments, like cognitive training and cognitive rehabilitation, for older adults across the dementia spectrum. Other speakers discussed diet and nutrition and exercise. This series of talks led to extensive discussion of what older adults can do to maximize and maintain their everyday functioning.
Dr. Hampstead also participated in an APA symposium on neuromodulation techniques and specifically reviewed methods that should be considered when using brain stimulation (neuromodulation) in older adults.
Finally, Dr. Hampstead presented an overview of the work being performed in the RP-CNBI in recognition of being named an APA Fellow.
