Ketrin Lengu, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Fellow

Mental Health Service of VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System

Ketrin earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. She is completing her Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System/University of Michigan Consortium. Her research interests are in the identification and treatment of cognitive and social-emotional deficits resulting from neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Lengu is now a Staff Neuropsychologist in the Rehabilitation Institute at The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio, and Assistant Professor within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Case Western Reserve University. 


Eva Antebi-Lerman, B.S.

Research Technician Associate

Eva graduated from the University of Michigan in 2019 with a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. She joined the RP-CNBI to explore her interest in treatment intervention research. She has developed an interest in treatment resistant PTSD, psychoanalysis, and methods of measuring treatment efficacy. Eva plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. She is also an abstract oil painter who seeks to capture the motion of the natural world in paint. Sharing her artwork is an essential part of her life and she continues to establish new avenues to show her work.  Eva has been accepted to the  Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Ohio University starting Fall of 2021. She will be working with Dr. Timothy Anderson doing psychotherapy research. 

Katie Edwards, B.A.

Research Technician Associate

Katie graduated from Michigan State University in the Spring of 2019 and started working in the RP-CNBI shortly after. She's interested in gaining as much experience with both the research process and the field of Neuropsychology as she can before applying for a Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology. She's a native of Marquette, Michigan, and in her free time loves to be outdoors (kayaking, backpacking, and marshmallow roasting) as well as all other kinds of travel-- specifically international. She's currently attempting to take up photography to document the adventures. Katie has accepted a position in sunny San Diego. 

Marny Ehmann, B.A.

Research Technician Associate

Marny completed her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Global French Studies at Hope College in 2019. She joined the RP-CNBI shortly after graduation to gain experience in neuropsychological research and intervention before applying to Clinical Psychology Ph.D. programs in the coming fall. Her research interests largely encompass the field of health psychology and the interplay between mental health and physiological processes. In her free time, she enjoys listening to true crime podcasts (or any podcast really), exercising, and traveling to countries where she can practice her French. Marny has been accepted to the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Drexel University starting  Fall of 2021.  She will be working with Dr. Meghan Butryn in the Center for Weight, Eating and Lifestyle Science.  

Daryl Cain, B.S.

Research Technician Associate

Daryl graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Space Sciences and later went on to take several master’s level courses in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Lamar University. He joined the RP-CNBI in July of 2021 to gain research experience as he now plans to attend a clinical psychology program, specializing in clinical neuropsychology. His professional interests relate to enhancing the quality of life of individuals suffering from MCIs, TBIs, and neurodegenerative diseases, through the effective use of neuropsychological testing and intervention. In his free time, Daryl enjoys playing the piano, learning different languages, and watching movies.

Shannon Ryan, B.S.

Research Technician Associate

Shannon graduated from the University of Michigan in 2019 with a B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering and continued on to complete her Masters' degree also in Biomedical Engineering in 2020. Her work with the RP-CNBI began as her engineering senior design project in Fall of 2019. Following undergraduate graduation, Shannon stayed on with the lab to further the development of the project.

Colin Pietron, B.A.

Research Technician Associate

Colin completed his undergraduate degrees in Behavioral Neuroscience and Music Composition at Ohio Wesleyan University in 2018. He joined the RP-CNBI in January of 2019 to gain experience in neuropsychological research and intervention before applying to graduate programs in the coming fall. Broadly, Colin’s interests include examining the interplay between music and cognition. Specifically, he is interested in the neuronal development that occurs as musicians hone their craft throughout their years of musical study, in addition to what makes up a person’s musical identity. In his free time Colin enjoys commercial salmon fishing in Alaska, as well as playing as many board and card games that he can get his hands on.

Rachel Debling, B.S.

Research Technician Associate

Rachel graduated from Western Michigan University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and a minor in General Business. Shortly after, she joined the RP-CNBI working on the Stimulation to Improve Memory (STIM) study to gain experience in neuropsychological interventions and possible treatments. Rachel plans to continue her education in the future by pursing a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology. In her free time, Rachel enjoys traveling, attending sporting events, and being around family and friends. 

Hannah White

Undergraduate Research Volunteer

Hannah is an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan, majoring in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. She’s currently on the pre-medical track and hopes to gain insight into the field of neuropsychology and its research through RP-CNBI. She’s originally from Nashville, Tennessee. In her free time, Hannah enjoys reading, running, and playing with her two dogs, Klondike and York.

Aleija Rodriguez, B.A.

Research Technician Associate

Aleija graduated from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor in May 2021 with a B.A. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. He joined the RP-CNBI shortly after graduation to gain more experience with neuropsychology research and rehabilitation approaches. He plans to attend a clinical psychology program in the future and specialize in neuropsychology, with research interests in learning, memory, cross-cultural studies, and forensic neuropsychology. He enjoys podcasts, books, and shows of all types, including science fiction, crime, and history. He is also taking the break in formal schooling to improve his Spanish, learn guitar, and develop new hobbies.

Troy Tyszkowski, B.S., B.S.

Clinical Subjects Coordinator; MRI Analysis

Troy graduated from Michigan State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Neuroscience and Physiology in December of 2016. Troy began his work in neuroimaging analysis in August of 2016, where he started as an Undergraduate Assistant in the Cognitive and Geriatric Neurology Laboratory at Michigan State University. Troy joined the RP-CNBI in May of 2019 as a Clinical Subjects Coordinator, responsible for analysis of fMRI data and the coordination between the RP-CNBI and various neuroimaging institutions. 

Tessa Wilcox, B.S.

Research Supervisor

Tessa graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from Maryville College in 2017 and has a background in research assessing cognitive changes over the course of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment. She joined the RP-CNBI in December 2020 to pursue her interest in exploring the cognitive effects and clinical applications of non-invasive brain stimulation and now oversees the Stimulation of Cingulo-Opercular Alertness Network (SCAN) and TMS in ADRD studies as a Research Supervisor. Tessa plans to attend graduate school in Neurobiology in the near future after broadening her lab experience within the field. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, volunteering, reading, exercising, and spending time outdoors.

Michael "Max" Padgett, B.S.

Research Supervisor

Max, who joined the RP-CNBI in April of 2019, oversees the Promoting Adaptive Neuroplasticity in Mild Cognitive Impairment (Merit) , Patient-Centered NeuroRehabilitation (PCN), and Brain-Behavior Characterization (BBC) Studies. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Philosophy at Eastern Michigan University. Max has diverse professional experience, having worked in microbiology and molecular genetics research, social psychology research, marketing, and as a paralegal and skip tracer prior to joining the Program.

Alexandra Sweitzer

Undergraduate Research UROP Volunteer

Alexandra is an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan pursuing a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. After graduating in 2025, she plans to attend medical school to further develop her interests in neuroscience and psychology. Alexandra volunteers with Michigan Medicine in the Trauma Burn Center, works on the marketing team for a pre-medical association, and mentors Ann Arbor middle school girls in STEM to give them a better sense of the fields they may enter in the future. She joined the RP-CNBI team in October 2022 in order to gain exposure to neuropsychology and neurodegenerative diseases by researching behavioral changes in patients with MCI after learning about their results in regard to Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) or Dementia Alzheimer’s Type (DAT). In her free time, Alexandra enjoys trying new restaurants with her friends, learning how to play the ukulele, and hanging out with her dog, Bo.

Sophia Meguid

Undergraduate Research UROP Volunteer

Sophia is pursuing her B.S. degree at the University of Michigan. She plans to attend medical school in the future. She is deciding between Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience and Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology as a major. She would like to minor in Women and Gender Studies. She is a member of the University of Michigan Varsity Dance Team and is involved in clubs focused on reproductive justice and mental health. She joined the RP-CNBI in October 2022 to better understand neurodegenerative diseases and to explore novel treatment options. In her free time, Sophia learns American Sign Language and volunteers.

Charlotte Moss 

Undergraduate Research Volunteer

Charlotte is an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan and plans to graduate in 2023 with a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. She is extremely interested in pursuing a career in neuropsychology and began volunteering at the RP-CNBI in February 2021. She is completing her Honor’s Thesis this year under the mentorship of Dr. Hampstead and Dr. Crowley. In her free time, Charlotte enjoys cheering for Michigan’s football and basketball teams, exercising, and spending time outdoors. 

Joshua Lin

Undergraduate Research Volunteer

Joshua is currently pursuing his B.S. degree in Neuroscience at the University of Michigan with plans to attend medical school. He joined the RP-CNBI in October 2021 to gain experience with non-invasive brain stimulation and neuropsychological testing as well as exposure to neurologically affected populations. Besides research, Joshua enjoys skateboarding, playing basketball, exploring Ann Arbor, and hopes to expand his musical expertise to drumming. 

Carine El Jamal, M.A.

Carine completed her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Political studies at the American University of Beirut in 2019. She received her MA in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University in 2021. She joined the RP-CNBI in August 2021 to gain experience in the field of neuropsychology, particularly neuropsychological testing and brain stimulation interventions. Carine plans on pursuing her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology. In her free time, Carine enjoys reading, exercising, traveling, and learning about different cultures. 

Mary Lesniak, B.A.

Mary graduated from University of Michigan Dearborn with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in European History and Women’s and Gender Studies in April of 2021. Mary joined RP-CNBI working on the STIM+ study in July of 2021 to gain more experience in neuropsychology research and interventions before pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a Neuropsychology focus. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, gaming, and listening to true-crime podcasts.

Megan Schumer, B.S.

Research Technician Associate

Megan graduated from University of Iowa in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and minors in Psychology and Chemistry. She joined RP-CNBI in August 2021 to gain research experience in preparation for pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience, focusing on neurocognition in neurodivergent populations. In her free time, she enjoys reading horror and sci-fi, playing video games, and doing yoga.


Ashley Harrie, B.A.

Ashley graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in May of 2020 with a major in Anthropology and a minor in Biology. She joined the RP-CNBI in January of 2021 to explore her interest in clinical research and interventions before applying to medical school. Her professional interests broadly encompass the intersection of culture and medicine, in addition to the interplay between mental health and substance use. She was promoted in August 2022 to the Research Technician Intermediate position.  In her free time, Ashley enjoys exploring different cultures through their cuisines and culinary traditions, as well as running and is currently training to complete her first full marathon.

Emily Noyer, B.A.

Emily graduated from The University of Michigan – Ann Arbor August 2022. She majored in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience and minored in Linguistics. She joined RP-CNBI after graduation to gain research experience and explore her interests in cognition and aging. Emily plans to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology. Her research interests include psycholinguistics, aphasia, aging, and interventions for neurodegenerative disorders.  Outside of work, Emily enjoys rock climbing, traveling, backpacking, reading, cooking and spending time with friends.  

Gabrielle Lincoln, B.S.

Gabrielle graduated from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor in May 2022 with a B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience and a minor in Gender and Health. She joined the RP-CNBI team shortly after graduating to explore her interests in neuropsychology and cognitive aging. Gabrielle plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in neuropsychology. Her research interests include memory and aging, neurodegeneration, and psychopathology. In her free time, she enjoys cosmetology, true crime, music, and exercising. 

Jesica Pedroza, M.S.

Jes graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S in Biology and a Master’s in Tropical Medicine from the University of Barcelona. She has worked both locally and internationally to address health disparities and is passionate about providing health education given a population’s unique characteristics. Jes is bilingual in English and Spanish, with specialized language skills in medical terminology. She joined the RP-CNBI in early 2021. In her free time, she and her family enjoy hiking with their dog Carlos, spending time at the local library and traveling based on cuisine.

Darby Eck

Darby is currently an undergraduate student pursuing a B.A. in Psychology at Harvard University. Darby joined the RP-CNBI to learn more about neuropsychology and to gain research experience with elderly populations. After graduation, she plans to explore the intersection of geriatric psychology and psychedelic-assisted therapy in hopes of expanding the treatment paradigm within the field of geriatric psychology. In her free time, Darby enjoys reading, rugby, playing pickleball, and spending time outdoors.



Tony Moceri, B.S.

Imaging Project Coordinator

Tony graduated from Michigan State University in December 2021 with a B.S. in Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience and joined the RP-CNBI in May 2022. He plans on expanding his knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases and disorders, as well as becoming more proficient in neuroimaging analysis and processing. Tony plans to stay with the RP-CNBI while exploring potential graduate programs in the field of neuropsychology, focusing on neuromodulation and hoping to eventually work in a clinical setting. In his free time, Tony enjoys spending time with his cat ‘Ale’, as well as writing music and running. He has also begun to learn Italian, and hopes to learn at least 2 more languages. 

Sam Crowley, Ph.D.

Sam Crowley completed his B.S. in Psychology with a Biological Emphasis at the University of California, Davis. He completed his Ph.D. in Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of Florida. He completed his predoctoral clinical internship in Health Service Psychology at Emory University. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the VA Ann Arbor Health Systems/Michigan Medicine Consortium. His research focuses on investigating how biological and behavioral characteristics predict cognitive decline, as well as how these characteristics predict response to interventions for cognitive decline. Dr. Crowley is now a faculty member at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Gianna Tunzi, B.S.

Gianna graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2021 with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a minor in Global Health. She joined the RP-CNBI in November 2021 to gain research experience before pursuing a graduate Neuroscience degree. Her research interests include the development of interventions for neurological and psychiatric disorders. In her free time, Gianna enjoys watching movies, playing guitar, and painting.

Alexander Kaminski

Alex is currently an undergraduate student  studying Neuroscience at the University of Michigan with plans to attend medical school after completing his bachelor’s degree. Alex joined the RP-CNBI as a volunteer in October 2023 to gain knowledge and experience in the field of neuropsychology and neuromodulation based interventions. In his free time, he enjoys running, listening to music, spending time with friends, and sports.

Gracie Harlock

Gracie is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan studying Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience and plans to attend medical school with a focus in surgery. Gracie joined the RP-CNBI as a part of the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) in October with hopes to gain research experience and knowledge about neuromodulation techniques to treat Alzheimer’s and other related dementias. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising, spending time with friends and family, and baking.

Kayla Drifka

Kayla is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan pursuing Biopsychology, Cognition, & Neuroscience and intends to enter a PhD program with a focus in neuropsychology. Kayla joined the RP-CNBI team in October as part of the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) in the hopes to gain more experience with research methods, an understanding of neuropsychological assessments, and neuroimaging. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, watching movies, traveling, and hanging out with her roommates. 

Shoshanah Machlay

Shoshanah is a recent graduate from the University of Michigan, studying Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience, as well as Spanish. She joined the RP-CNBI in September 2021 as a volunteer to learn everything she could about neuropsychology while gaining experience in the field. She was hired shortly after graduation in 2022. She plans to attend a clinical psychology PhD program and specialize in clinical neuropsychology. She is interested in researching neurodegenerative diseases and TBIs, and using what she learns to help patients by working with them one-on-one in a clinical environment. In her free time, Shoshanah enjoys doing aerial gymnastics and knitting.

Madelyn Eckel, B.S.

Madelyn graduate from Grand Valley State University in May 2022, double majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience and in Psychology as well as a minoring in applied statistics. Madelyn joined the RP-CNBI in June of 2022 to gain more research experience and learn more about what she would like to focus her neuropsychology career on. She hopes to eventually enter into a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program with a neuropsychology focus. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing board/card/video games, and hanging out with her cat Zoey!

Kelsi Broich, B.S.

Kelsi graduated from Michigan State University in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in cognitive science. She joined the RP-CNBI in February of 2022 working on the Stimulation to Improve Memory (STIM) study to gain experience in neuropsychological research and interventions before pursuing a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, traveling, and watching crime documentaries. Kelsi is now studying clinical psychology in a PhD program at the University of Mississippi.

Allison Ploutz-Snyder

Allison is currently an undergraduate student at Case Western Reserve University, majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Bioethics. After graduation she wants to go into medical school with a focus on neurodegenerative disorders. Allison joined the RP-CNBI to gain research experience and further explore her interests in the field.  Allison also swims competitively for Case Western and in her free time she likes to paddleboard, work on crafts, go boating, and shop.


Mateo Lopez, B.A.

After graduating with a BA in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a concentration in Neurobiology from the University of California, Berkeley in December 2019, Mateo joined the Computational Psychiatry, Neuroimaging, and Sleep Lab at Stanford School of Medicine. At Stanford, he led studies that looked at the relationship between sleep and neural biomarkers in the maintenance and treatment of neuropsychiatric symptoms. He joined the RP-CNBI in November 2022. He plans to apply to neuroscience and clinical science graduate programs and continue to gain experience in clinical translational neuroscience research. Outside of research, he enjoys reading, discovering new music venues, and going out salsa dancing. Mateo is currently participating at a post bac program at the University of California Berkeley. 

Brett Schneider, Ph.D.

Brett Schneider completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology and Biology at the University of Iowa. He completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a predoctoral internship in neuropsychology at the VA Maine Healthcare System. He is currently a first-year adult neuropsychology postdoctoral fellow in the VA Ann Arbor Health Systems/Michigan Medicine Consortium. His areas of research include the effectiveness of tDCS to modulate neural networks and evaluating neurostimulation as an intervention for aging populations.
